BBQ stain on my white t-shirt

Last weekend I went to a Tim McGraw concert with a couple of girlfriends. SERIOUSLY the most fun I have had in a long time.
Here are a few highlights of the night

1- I was on my feet the entire concert singing to all the songs (even the ones I didn't know the words to) Dancing, and screaming, you heard me, screaming. Judge me if you will but we had the best time being those girls that never shut up the entire time...sooo fun. And let's face it when does a mormon girl/mom of 2 really ever have the chance to dance??? We need to take them when we can right?

2-When I say "yah I love Tim McGraw" what I really mean is I loved him for like 2 years in High School and I still think his big hit is "It's your love". So basically I knew about half of the songs (the ones from 10 years ago" but whatever I still loved it.

3- when you go somewhere like a concert you really have no proof that you were actually there cause the picture is just a super close up of your faces cause you took it yourself. And sadly Tim didn't come up to the rafters (where our seats were) to get a personal picture with us. But this is at the concert I swear.

4- You never are quite sure who you are going to get stuck sitting by. Jessi the lucky girl sat by this man. He actually turned out to be my favorite person ever cause as soon as it was a song he knew he was on his feet dancing and singing with more enthusiasm than we were...love it

5- When we got there a band was singing and Aubrey asked this guy who they were and he looked ay her with disgust "uh Lady Antebellum" ok note to self learn who the bands are that you are going to see...I did know 1 of their songs.

(At 5 guys before the show getting burgers...yum)

6- And last but not least I realized that I am still 17 at heart. When Tim sang "something like that" aka BBQ stain on my white T-shirt I almost lost my voice from singing so loud. I was instantly back in the summer before grade 12 and we were cruising in my white truck listening to that song (much to lindsay's dismay) And I still loved it. It's fun to realize that yah I'm a mom and yah I'm married and all mature and stuff but sometimes you just need a fun night out with the girls right?
And it's ok to always be 17 at heart!

How to eat a

SUGAR COOKIE!

First you get as much frosting as possible onto your knife

Never mind putting it on the cookie...that is for amatures. Go straight for the mouth
And Enjoy!!! Lily sure did

Our wards play group had a fun little valentines party and the kids loved it.

I was one of the mom's in charge of the Valentines day party for Luke's pre school so we did that too and it was fun. It was kind of fun for me cause I got to see Luke at school with all of his friends and see how he did with the other kids.

And the best part was that Lily finally got to go to Pre-school!! She was so happy to finally be part of the action, I just don't know how I'm going to hold her off for another 2 years. Every Thursday is the same thing "I want to go to preeeeee-schoooooool "

All in all we had a great Valentines day. The kids had fun (mostly because they got to eat frosting for lunch) We had fun making Valentine day hearts for each other for FHE, Luke wrote his name on all of the Valentines for his friends, Lily got to go to the party and Ramsey even made me a sweet gift, a coupon book well 3 coupon books.
He put one in the cupboard so I would find it on Sunday morning, one in the fridge and one in the bathroom cabinet. This would have been super sneaky accept for the fact that on Saturday night right before we were going to bed he begged me to get him something to drink out of the fridge (there goes surprise #1) then he said he needed something to eat too (surprise #2 done) and then when we got upstairs ha asked me to check if there was any toothpaste in the cupboard, I told him I didn't care cause I already brushed my teeth but he whined and whined so I went and checked and lo and behold...surprise #3!!!! So yah not so patient with surprises but it was still sweet. Well most of it was but I have to say that some of the "coupons" seem to be more for him than for me if you know what I mean hmmmm. Still not complaining Thanks Ramz and
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!

Luke boy

I can get Lily to sing all day (or maybe I should say that I can never get her to stop singing all day) but Luke on the other hand is a little more reserved, but every once in a while he finds a primary song he loves and this just happens to be his favorite for the time being.

ps. Lily was sick that day, she is not usually the mute in the corner haha

Snowy Fun

Shut down the city
it SNOWED!!!

I always have to laugh when the entire city shuts down just because it snows. When I was a kid we would pray for a snow day and very very seldom did we ever get one. Forty below plus windchill...bring it on. Bundle up the kids and off they go to school!!

I have to say that we had quite a fun little time playing in the snow, it made me feel like we were home in Canada freezing our butts off. I loved it!

And no I do not recomment doing a snow angel in jeans...Freezing!!!

Feed me

This has to be my favorite picture, don't ask me why...maybe it's Lily's crooked pig tails?

Today Luke went to pre-school, he loves it. When I picked him up I opened his back pack and examined his non-eaten lunch (as I always do) I tell you that kid is just like his Dad, he just doesn't care all that much about food. Lily and I on the other hand...we love food, maybe a little too much, but anyway. I gave Lily his un-eaten sandwich for her lunch and drove home.
When we pulled in to the driveway luke decided that he wanted to push the button to open the garage door and he also wanted to help me drive the car (you let the kid do something once and suddenly they want to be an under age driver everyday) I said no and I did the honors myself, I pull in shut the door and then the drama begins.
Luke is screaming
"No Mommy don't touch me, nooooo STOP IT I want to push the button" as I am trying to unbuckle him. Then Lily is screaming crying
"No Mommy not time for a sleepie I want to go to pre-school" (we go through this every week and every week I tell her that when she is 4 she can go...well that's just not good enough)
So Luke is screaming and Lily is bawling and I am wondering how things can change so rapidly in a mere 45 seconds.
Well then Lily decides that instead of being a problem she is going to be a mother
"uh oh Mom, Nuke's in big trouble huh Mom"
"Nuke we don't scream...tiiiime OUT"
"Nuke's in time out huh Mom."
me-"Lily don't worry about Luke"
Luke- "Stop it Mommmmmmmy"
(I can't win)

So I leave him in the van jumping up and down so fiercely that the van is rocking and I take Lily upstairs. Meanwhile she remembers that she is going to have a nap and the whining and begging resumes.
So I make her a little something to eat (the hand me down sandwich ended up on the floor of the van)
she is distracted cause like I said, the girl likes food.
Then Luke enters the picture again, this time he has the crazy look in his eyes and Lily's cute little red boot hits me in the back, then he leaves again
the next thing I see is his diego back pack flying past me, followed by a pair of socks. I turn around and look at him with all the furry I can muster and he screams on the top of his lungs and run's away.
This goes on for a few minutes (him screaming and me ignoring him)
I take Lily up and lay her down and come back to see Luke laying in the fetal position on the floor on the living room. I ask him if he wants an apple and he screams.
So I walk into the kitchen and cut up an apple and slyly put it on the floor of the living room, Kind of like you would with a dog or a cat (or a rabid animal that you don't want to bite you).
So I laid the bait and waited to see if the little demon would take it. When he thought I wasn't looking he slyly went over and started nibbling on the apple. I kid you not one minute later he comes up to me and says
"sorry mommy, come sit with me" And then we had a nice little 4 year old snuggle on the couch.

Moral of the story... Make sure your children are fed before you decide whether or not you are going to lock them in the cellar and throw away the key! It may be the hunger monster throwing shoes at you and not your oh so sweet (haha) 4 year old son

Redemption

I showed Ramsey this oldie and asked him if was better than the last one, he just smiled.

And if your wondering, my mom got a thing that converts all of our old slides into digital, so she keeps sending me blasts from the past.

Thanks Mom I love this one, I've never even seen it before.
I Love You, now how about a visit??

ps. And Mom, if you happen to come across any pictures of my haircut in grade 9...just go ahead and delete them, THANKS...the wounds are still to fresh

pps. I seriously died laughing at all the comments people left me concerning my ugly duckling-ness. I now challenge someone to beat that picture with one of their own...come on people be brave!!!

And yes everyone in my family at one point had the gigantor glasses, in case you were wondering
