Take me to the movies

Girl time

I am the type of gal that loves my husband loves my kids and loves all that house wife business. But I have to say that I also LOVE me a Girls Night Out!! I have always been a girls girl and have always had really good girlfriends so when I talked to my little sis Sophie today and she asked me (ever so sweetly) if i had any "friends" (she's always looking out for me) I figured I had better prove it to her. So here is our latest Girls night out at you guessed it... New Moon! Typical I know but we had a good time. Only half the girls made it into the picture and only half of the girls made it to the right restaurant after but hey Good Times!!
So Soph you don't have to worry about me I have friends, and cute ones too. (not that that matters haha)

And you can see that we are smiling in the pic, that is partly because the movie was actually watchable(unlike twilight) and partly because of Jacobs Abs...there I said it and I am officially as lame as the 13 year old girls in the theater screaming his name so judge me all you want but whatever I don't care.

ps. For all of my non Kentucky friends I am the girl on the left with the brown hair. Like??

My old friend

DO YOU Remember ME?

I used to be a blogger, I actually really liked it. I used to have cute little stories about my kids, I used to share them. I used to talk to my Sis Angela< almost everyday on Skype (my kids were pretty sure that Aunt Angela lived in the computer) I Jacklyn used to be the good Bridge sister who kept in touch with everyone.

But no more.
I was robbed of my identity
by an assailant

And her name is Emily

Don't you think that it's a little odd that the same week that not 1 but 2 of our computers died (cutting me off from the blogging world) who should surface as a MAD blogger none other than my own sister. The same sister that for the last few years has been keeping in touch with our beloved hike school girlfriends (no, no typo there I meant to say "hike") through ME.

"Hey how's Em Jack"
"oh you know she's good, she lives in Boise bla bla bla)
"she really needs to get a blog"
"I know but I'll update you about her fam on my blog"
you knew the drill.

Anyway to my point, yes I have one. The DAY that my computer died is the day that Emily got one. Call me crazy but I am sensing "Sabotage" like she sent bad energy my way, well my computers way so that she could have all the blogging glory!! and yah she also talks to Ang and Soph on Skype...WHATEVER

Well I'm totally over it, I will sit here on my ancient lap top that is too much of a senior citizen to handle the job of loading pics onto it. (I'll nick name her Gert, short for Gertrude)
But I will dream of the day when I can take all of the comments that you leave on Em's new blog and put them back on mine.
until then
take care
Jacklyn (the former blogger who was robbed)

(here is the traitor acting like a cute sweet sister)

Ps. If you didn't get my jist, my computer is a piece so if I want to blog it has to be with all old pictures blah who wants that. I guess I could just blog thoughts and stories but let's bee real I'm sure half of you didn't even read this and you just skimmed it for pics haha Ah well what can you do. Maybe I'll write about Luke's 4th b-day and halloween next year. And I'll definitely blog about the fact that while I wrote this Lily covered the table with salt, dug out all the ashes from the fire place and covered the couch in deodorant.
Yah I'll blog about that LATER...

Things I am loving right now

-Lily's run, picture both hands out to the side and then she kinda clumsily pitter patters. Poor girl may have inherited my athletic abilities.

-For the last 2 days Lily keeps coming up to me and asking for a "Dingo"
(mango) probably the cutest thing EVER

-for a good 20 minutes today Luke and Lily sat in Luke's room playing nicely and sharing a little box of treats...rare, and sooooo nice.

-Luke has discovered that he loves to sing (but only if you don't ask him to0) he will entertain himself for a good chunk of lily's nap by singing to himself and playing with his toys.

-Luke wrote his name for the first time yesterday all by himself. And you could actually tell that it said Luke.

-Lily calls Luke "Nook" or even cuter "Nookey"

-My parent's are coming out to visit in October!!!! could not be more excited :)

-When Lily get's out of the bath she has to have a pink towel. (good thing she will also accept the purple towel with pink bleach spot's on it)

-Last but certainly not least... Ramsey has an interview at the Dental school on TUESDAY!!! Which means that we will be one step closer to having this crazy plan of ours (moving all over the country) pay off. We will have some major fingers being crossed for this to work out so wish my Ramsey luck, and maybe send some prayers our way...Much appreciated!

An Evening at the Edwards

Picture this if you will.

The day is done, the kids teeth are brushed, faces washed, fresh Pj's on, both are finally nestled sweetly in their beds, ahh the end of a busy day. You go downstairs and lay down on the couch to enjoy some well deserved R&R, the gentle whuurrr (yah that's a word) of the dishwasher lulls you into a state of peace, the sound means that your kitchen is clean and you can relax guilt free. You are mindlessly flipping through the channels when you hear the garage door open, oh good your other half is finally home and you can now enjoy an evening together. "Hi hon what do you want watch" you politely ask "I dunno just a second" say's he.
You hear him go upstairs, no biggie he needs to change. And then it happens... The next thing you hear is the pitter patter of not only one set of feet but two, followed by a triumphant

"MOMMY!! we get popcorn"

So here we are an hour after bedtime with 2 little rugrats sitting on the couch with popcorn in their already brushed teeth.
I guess I should be happy that we have a daddy who loves us and who likes to throw a party when we should be in bed. Life's to short to be too concerned about bedtime right?

And how do you resist Lily saying "Mommy come join the party"

Here I go again!

I know that people are probably sick of hearing about our trip to Canada but hey My blog My rules!! I have so many fun pics and I have fun posting them sooooo read if you like, skim if you like or keep on blog stalking elsewhere!!

Luke and Lily's first plane ride! Louisville to Chicago to Vegas. we then got to spend 2 fun days at Jade, Matty's, Laken's and baby Track's house. We had so much fun but they were just getting used to the time zone change and they were a little crazy. So Jade had me up till 2 or 3 in the morning chatting and then the kids had me up at 5:30. Great way to kick off our month of no sleep!

Lily made up for lack of sleep wherever she could!

Could anything be cuter than this picture??? I absolutely love it. Sweet little Lily Claudia with her name sake Grandma Claudia. When Lily was born I kind of wanted to name her Lily Jane because my mom's middle name is Jane but Ramsey would not hear it. He said that my mom had had 9 kids and none of them had her name and she deserved it. I couldn't agree more and I'm glad we went for her first name instead. They have a special bond.

Just spending an afternoon in beautiful Waterton. I love Waterton and take every chance that I can to go there. Gotta have the classic pic in from of Cameron falls.

This particular day was a tad bit windy (imagine that) but we still had fun.

A little picnic in the camp kitchen and there you have it a classic day in Waterton.
I love taking my kids there because I think of it as such a huge part of my childhood and I loved it so now they can love it too. Next summer we will Hike, but we needed our dad for that one.

Bridge Mix '09

Some families need to go to a five star resort to have a fun family reunion, well not the Bridge Mix. Just give us a campground 10 minutes from home, a water slide made into the side of a hill, good food, good stories, good company and Voila...Good times
And we call it...

I absolutely love this picture. I love that Aunt Becky is so fun and creative with her sign making abilities, but I love the scenery in the background the most. The flat prairie of Southern Ab in the background with the tiny Canadian flag waving in the distance...ahhhh my heart

Rules of the Camp
*
No Make-up, and a hairbrush is Optional
(as demonstrated here by me and Sophie)
*No sneaking into town
*eat WAY too much at all times
*Sleep is for the weak!!

Luke enjoying a meal of chips and pop with grandma, yah I'm a good mom and my MoM is an even better Grandma!

Lily and Grandpa watching the Festivities

Honestly the most fun I've had all summer was spent sliding down this hill. The picture's says it all. We had a BLAST

And yes we got injured at the bottom of the hill when we would all pile up onto each other, But so worth it!!

We will see you next Summer camp "Wannagoof&Eat&SleepAlot"

Hostage

I just wanted to Express my frustration. All of our fun summer pictures are being held HOSTAGE!!! Our computer is MAD at me and it will not let me share any of my fun times I've had this summer. And you know me and computers... not the best of friends or rather I should just say that we speak completely different languages and I need a little time with me Ramz and the hard drive. So out of my blogging frustrations comes this little JEM

I took this picture of this man a few months ago when we were at Keenland (horse races for all you non-kentuckians) and it has never quite made it into one of my post's. Because really when would it fit in??? "Here's Luke and look how fast Lily is growing and oh yah here is a random man" Anyway it's getting a post now and I hope it makes you Laugh.

And yes I pretended that I was taking a picture of my friend and just zoomed in on the man standing behind her.
I learned that trick in Junior high when we had a HOT student teacher that we wanted to sneek a picture of... Lyndsey H, Lindsay S
You remember!!!

Anyway Enjoy!!!

Everybody Love's Raymond

I love my home town

I love that on July first the whole town celebrates. I love that everyone who is from Raymond or has ever been from Raymond, or has parents who are from Raymond love to come home for the first. If you have never heard of "the First of July in Raymond" or the town of Raymond for that matter let me paint you a picture. Picture a town where kids grow up not knowing how to use addresses, what you just turn left after the Community center then your first right at the park then we are the 3rd house on the left. You don't know where the community center is you say...well then you really have never been to Raymond. It's a place where people are proud off their sports teams (they actually are really good) and even more proud of the high quality slurpee's you can get at town pump. It's a place where a girl like me (and probably a couple of my sisters) can graduate from high school by taking "some" classes but mostly just planning a lot of pep ralley's. It's also a place where Bridge jumping into gross disgusting canal water isn't done on a dare, no it's the way the teenagers have fun on a hot summer's afternoon.

On the first of July It's a place where a picture like this (my little brother Peter dressed up like Frodo baggins for his Lord of the Rings float) is normal, almost expected really.

It's a place where everybody knows Grandma Ethel playing the piano with her band in the parade. (even if she's not your Grandma)

Where all over town kids line the streets anxiously awaiting the candy at the parade!

I love that every year about 2 days before the parade you start to see cars parked long ways up and down main street to save places for the parade. And that everyone always sits at the same place (we're in front of my dad's office) I love that it's not completely absurd to see an underage kid driving a 4 wheeler through the streets usually loaded up with other kids.

And I LOVE that you will always see these 2 lovelies together taking it all in. I love my Grandma and Grandpa.
So if you can't tell, I love my Home Town, I miss it when I'm gone, and I LOVE that no matter how far away I live I can always come home on the First and find it exactly the same waiting for me.

Ps. Lily loved the food

Gardening with Grandma

Luke has a few things in common with his Grandma Rhonda, one of them is their love of gardening. When we were at their house Luke would want to go out and pick strawberries with grandma. But he was sure to inform me that "you only pick the very red ripe ones"

They had so much fun with their Granparents, We love them!

Luke was so cute watering all the flowers so carefully. Oh yah, the other thing that they have in common is their love of LAUNDRY!!! Rhonda is the type that practically ripes your sock off your foot if she thinks it needs to be washed...she LOVES doing laundry, and Luke's the same. He loves to help me sort the laundry and put all the clothes into the washer. If he ever see's some dirty clothes he says "oh let's do the laundry mommy" it drives me nuts, but it does make it so that I don't get behind...

Cousins cousins everywhere

We LOVE our cousins!!
The best part of our entire trip home to Canada was having so many fun cousins to play with. I love where we live but one draw back is definitely the lack of cousins. Growing up I remember when kids would say that they didn't like one of their cousins or that they didn't even know any of their cousins and my mouth would just hang...no COUSINS???My cousins were and still are some of my best friends, I have so many memories with my cousins, and now our kids are playing with each other I love it! It makes me so happy to see my kids have so much fun with their cousins, And OH the fun they had. Every morning Luke would wake up and say "Mom can we go to Mia's house now" and they would just play all day. We crammed a years worth of fun into 4 weeks, and these are not even half of the pictures.

Luke, Layla, Jake and Clair at the camp ground in Missoula

Layla is the cutest thing, I wanted to bring her home with me

Mia tried SEVERAL times to get Luke to have a sleep over with her and he would say yes until the lights went out and it was actually time for bed...then he was all about wanting his mom. The funny thing is that I remember when I was young we would go to Idaho to visit my cousins and every morning Linsy would be so sad cause I would leave her and go sleep with my Mom!
Mia would beg "please Lukey PLEASE sleep at my house" hahaha I'll enjoy it while I can cause I know he won't want me forever. Maybe next summer Mia

So cute playing in the Rocks at the Bridge Campout in Magrath

Lily and little miss Hazel

At the parade on the first of July "O Canada "

Ok one of my ALL time favorite pictures, Can you even stand how cute they are. We got to see Laken at her house in St. George

The funniest part of the trip is that since we have been home Luke has been calling me "Auntie Jacklyn" seriously people are starting to look at me weird at church.
